Kid’s Clay Field Therapy
Clay Field Therapy is a form of Art Therapy.
Incorporating the earthy medium of clay with touch and movement - for children along the Surf Coast, in Geelong and the Hinterland who feel overwhelmed, anxious and emotionally stuck.
Who is it for?
Is your child showing signs like tantrums, anxiety, withdrawal, school refusal, or acting out?
Are they experiencing friendship issues, extreme emotions or depression? Do they have ADHD, or rigid, irrational thinking? It is not a ‘passing stage’. These are all forms of maladaptive behaviours that arise to ‘adapt’ to what is now being stored in the child’s body.
Children may not remember the experience, but their body does.
Clay Field Therapy is a “sensorimotor” art therapy - it uses touch and movement to help children process trauma and rewire their brains.
This form of art therapy allows the child to unconsciously explore their inner world, that may be shaped by trauma or distressing events that they cannot put words to. Although children cannot remember or express what has happened, their body stores the experience and this shapes the child’s behaviour in the form of ‘maladaptive’ or ‘difficult’ behaviour.
How does it work?
Clay Field Therapy is a form of touch therapy and movement therapy.
Both result in trauma release from the body, a rewiring of brain pathways and the development of safety and nervous system regulation. It can also aid to complete incomplete stages of development that may have been interrupted during early childhood.
Playing with clay in a wooden box, the child experiences the tactile qualities of earth, through touch, while experiencing and developing new movement patterns in their body.
This therapy effectively accesses parts of the brain that are not consciously controlled, yet store memories of experiences from even pre-birth, as it gently works to restore wholeness.
Sessions are non-verbal, deeply calming and designed to help children:
-
Feel safe in their bodies again
Gently release what’s been held inside
Rebuild confidence and emotional trust
Complete incomplete stages of development in their brain
Clay becomes the medium. Safety becomes the foundation. And healing becomes possible.

We aim to make our sessions as accessible as possible for families. Fees are structured to reflect the depth of support, time, and facilitation provided.
Meet Caz
Caz is an artist, a wife, and a mother of two almost‑adults, who has learned to navigate life through the wisdom of the body. On her own healing journey, she discovered that talk therapy could only take her so far. After years of relying on her head to get through life’s challenges, she found deeper transformation through body‑based modalities that gently release stored tension and restore balance.
Caz now brings this rich tapestry of training in art therapy, somatic practices, and creative approaches to her work with others. Her sessions are designed to feel safe, curious, and often playful—because healing doesn’t have to hurt. Life brings many challenges, but you don’t have to face them alone. Let Caz walk with you on your journey back to joy, freedom and a sense of wholeness.
